I wonder too....furthermore they are much and much heavier than "normal" specimens of the same size. Sometimes more than double the weight...

I have few of those, I got them from fisherman around late 70's from Mozambique (Baia de Pemba)
This one extremely heavy, like a cement block

Great examples crushed tomato, the second shell in particular is just crazy.

thank you, but of those shells are not gem fr some reason.
They probably dead collected.
