This 69mm specimen originates from a very old collection and was labelled "Aden".
It clearly is Cypraea tigris (teeth etc.) but there are some features of pantherina as well?

I agree with Sergey, the data of this tigris are suspect...
However, they originate from a very serious shellcollection.

I specially like those tigris with vivid, homogeneous and unusual colors. And possibly with sharp spotting. Here is a couple of nice ones to my taste.

The orange is from an island off-shore the southern Vietnam coast (85 mm); the purple from the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii (118 mm).





The quality of my pictures is not that good (I cannot avoid the little white specks appearing here and there) but the colors, without the flash, came out quite right: just a hair lighter than the real.
