Hi all! Just wondering if this pantherina is really as is, or baked/heat treated?

http://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/201059512040?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

and I've seen a thread where this seller sold a fake, so I just want to know about this eglantina, whether it's authentic? (where there's a strange part at the posterior)

http://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/301110286399?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Thanks all Smilie

Thanks for replying! What causes the strange pointy part of the end though? Smilie

The apex of the shell is normally exposed in some species. This is normal in eglantine!

Yes, to me the pale Cypraea pantherina is a non-doctored shell. I have similar specimens in my private collection from several locations in the Red Sea...
