there are three specimens of kimbacki, which is in fact a form of decipiens, not eludens, as it is found in the northern range, not the southern eludens / suprasinum area. The three shells are in three collections known to me, but I will not disclose who the respective owners are, sorry.

Thank you.Felix.
But I think the side and the bottom of the shell though the shape or color or teeth are all very
near perlae or eludens . More near perlae.Perhap
Its perlae x mariellae or something else.Because
hybrid individuals are hardly appear too. There is
only one thing make me puzzle.Thats the habitat
and the life habits of two kinds of cowries.Whats
your opinion.Felix?
wish you happy

51 mm. I cannot see what makes this a "hybrid" or any resemblance to eludens, shape and base look perfectly like decipiens decipiens, and it was collected alongside typical specimens in moderately shallow water. If you hold an actual specimen of kimbacki alongside mariellae and perlae in hands you will also realize that it is not really similar to those, except the pale dorsal color

the siphonalcanal of 260m mariellae is orange
or more close to black, the back is a little bit near
yellow .The side has spot, all the shell is more flater.more near kimbacki (the specimen in the article)Perhaps the habits(about habitat) of kimbacki we known is wrong,we need find it more deep water, these 3specimen is only in special locations I think near60to 150m. Sehr glücklich
